North American Eagle Blasts into Tacoma Dome.
The North American Eagle supersonic land speed challenger will be on display at the Tacoma Dome for Motor Sports 2008, on November 7th, 8th, and 9th.
The Tacoma based North American Eagle, is chasing the aggressive goal or surpassing the current world land speed record of 763 mph. Their goal is to reach 800 mph, which would not only surpass the current record, but raise it significantly.
The Eagle is amazing to see. The chassis is an F-104A-10 Starfighter (without the wings). It is 56 feet long and weighs 13,000 pounds. The specially enhanced engine will produce 52,000 horse power!
The team, headed by Ed Shadle and Keith Zanghi, are excited to have their vehicle on display. "Motor Sports 2008 will be a great show, and we are glad to be a part of it," said Shadle. "It is always fun to share our passion with the public. The challenge of beating the current land speed record is our Mount Everest."
Show organizers, Walt Kaplin and Doug Danstrom are excited the North American Eagle will be there as well. "Since the early 1900s, when both automobiles and airplanes were first gaining acceptance, individuals have been pushing the limits of what they can do. Our show highlights a number of individuals who have done that their entire careers in the racing world. The North American Eagle, and what they are trying to do, fits in perfectly with this group."
The North American Eagle will be at the show for all three days. They will have an entire crew available to educate, answer questions, and share the passion they have for this vehicle and the record they are pursuing.
Motor Sports 2008 takes place in the Tacoma Dome on November 7, 8, and 9. More information is available at www.motorpsorts2008.com.
